Tim Urban, Founder and Managing Director

Tim co-founded Launch Education Group.

After earning his A.B. from Harvard University, graduating cum laude with a major in Government, Tim co-founded The Cartim Group from 2005-2007.  Alongside Launch Education close affiliate Carolyn McWilliams, Tim built the Cartim Group into one of the premier academic tutoring companies in Los Angeles. 

Tim's tutoring philosophy stems from a wealth of tutoring experiences, as both a tutor and a tutoring company owner. In addition to overseeing operations of Launch Education Group and The Cartim Group for 5 years, Tim has a decade of tutoring experience and has personally tutored nearly every academic subject and worked to prepare students for the SAT I, SAT II, ACT, GRE and ISEE tests.

Tim is also an accomplished pianist and composer, having scored films that have appeared in film festivals and on HBO. He also appeared as a contestant on NBC's The Apprentice.
